In addition to sharing aspects of the FUBA Archive, we felt it important to bring it to life through other formats and forms of engagement. Interviewing with individuals associated with FUBA Academy and the FUBA Archive was a crucial act in this.  Zines also offer an alternative way to re-read the archive, and so we have provided access to downloadable zines on the different aspects of FUBA.

Interviews

Throughout the time that this exhibition will be up, we will have interviews with artists who form part of the FUBA Archive.

Our first interview is with Omar Badsha, take a listen to what he has to say about the importance of online archives today and arts collectives during Apartheid.

Check out our series of interviews with Benjy Francis, the co-founder of FUBA, about his career in the arts,  his time at the Market Theatre, co-founding FUBA and his decision to leave FUBA.

Artist Bios

The team at the Johannesburg Art Gallery are working to put together the bios of all of the artists mentioned in the FUBA Archive.

Check out this document and contribute any information you have or know on the Become an Archiver page

Zines

Zines are a wonderful tool to share lots of information very easily.

Check out the zine on the FUBA Archive. To download it, click on the zine and it will open up in another tab. You can download and print your zine there.

Don't forget to cut your zine on the dotted line and fold on the solid lines.
